As a Black woman from the American South (Tallahassee, FL), my work is a deeply personal exploration of the stories that have shaped me, stories that are familiar, and stories shared throughout my community. I am drawn to the moments that capture the beauty, intimacy, and complexity of life—those fleeting instances that speak to our shared humanity.

I once heard someone say that Black people, particularly Black folks from the South, are natural orators. Through my documentarian style of photography, I strive to preserve and tell the stories that deserve to be heard, and keeping our histories alive. In addition to my visual work, I engage with sound curation as a way to deepen connection—to amplify the voices, rhythms, and environments that shape us. Sound offers another layer of storytelling, an audio reflection of the space we occupy, and a tool for connecting beyond the visual. It is my hope that through both image and sound, I can bring others into a shared experience of memory, resistance, and celebration.
